Time to reassemble the track. When you cut the track, you'll be left with a bit of flash

So we use a file to remove the flash. Files, knife, whatever work for you BUT, you need to be careful to make sure that after filing the two plastic pieces line up.

Here the plastic has had the flash removed.

Then, you need to slide the base back onto the track. This can be a bit finicky to get started but once you get it started it slides on the rest of the way pretty well.

And here's the Kato track reassembled.

Now its time to glue the plastic pieces together. To start with I use a clamp to hold the Kato track together with a bit of pressure.
